Alana grew up in country Victoria and spent her childhood playing netball, basketball and riding horses. Alana returned to the Torquay in 2020 after some time on the Sunshine Coast, and has loved being back helping those in the Geelong region get back to their physical best.
One of Alana’s real passions is working with individuals who have a love for sport and an active lifestyle. Alana has worked closely with many AFL and netball teams, particularly St. Josephs in the Geelong Football and Netball League. Alana has conducted further studies into the best management for injuries in our “Running Athletes” as well as a course specific to Lower Limb Tendinopathy.
Alana enjoys working with the pregnant patient and post-natal mothers, as well as regions of the body such as jaw pain, headaches, knee pain and shoulder injuries.
Alana has extensive experience as an athlete herself, having represented Australia at the Age Group World Championships in Triathlon in 2018, and played netball and basketball at a high level in her junior years. This experience provides Alana with a great understanding of the physical demands of sport and the effects it has on the body.
In her spare time Alana enjoys training and racing triathlons and loves riding her horses competitively in eventing, which is the “triathlon” of the equestrian disciplines. The daily highlight is spending time walking on the beach or relaxing with her partner Cal and border collie, Zelda.
Alana uses a structural and biomechanical approach when assessing and treating her patients. This can be tailored to the patient, selecting more gentle techniques on children, young teens or older patient, yet can bring out a firm treatment on those who prefer it. Alana has extensive knowledge in taping techniques after years working within a football club, and uses this regularly with her patients.

Jo has over 20 years’ experience working as an osteopath, the last 12 of which have been exclusively in the paediatric age group. Jo has devoted many hours of postgraduate study to the understanding of babies and children, and the role that Osteopathy can play in helping them to grow into healthy human beings. In that time, she has also managed to have three beautiful children of her own, who ensure that her learning is never complete!
Biodynamic Osteopathy is the main style of treatment Jo uses, which ensures a comfortable experience for the child, and often a lovely big sleep afterwards! Jo also helps you to navigate the minefield of advice that is out there, from tongue ties to feeding techniques to settling strategies. In the older child, Jo’s explanations about how some of the processes in their bodies may be contributing to their complaint, can really help them to become body aware and able to recognise when things aren’t going so well.
Jo’s passion and joy she receives from her work is evident when you come and see her, and she has been a supportive go-to for many parents across the Geelong region for long enough to have seen some of those young children thrive into early adulthood. Outside work, you’ll see her poorly attempting to play tennis, dragging her kids around the river, and returning to her childhood love of dance.

LYMPHATIC PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Kerry has 27 years experience as a physiotherapist and spent the first 15 years of her career specialising in musculoskeletal injuries. Her work in London at a clinic specialising in low back pain led her to train as a polestar pilates practitioner.
After returning to Australia Kerry worked at a busy practice specialising in the rehabilitation of cancer patients utilising both manual and pilates skills.
A passion for optimal wellness for cancer patients before, during and after treatment inspired her to complete both basic and advanced lymohoedema certification.
Kerry works at Andrew Love Cancer Centre and here at Procare Geelong.

Our much loved myotherapist, Shanti, is adept at everything from trigger-point therapy, deep-tissue massage and lymphatic drainage through to dry needling, muscle energy technique, pregnancy massage and postural analysis.
Shanti attributes her “spiritual compassion” for her journey to myotherapy through healing disciplines including nursing, Ayurvedic medicine, remedial massage and aromatherapy.
Shanti allows space for the body to heal itself - she creates space in muscle fibres so nerves and vessels can communicate effectively, space in muscular systems for joints and bones to restore, and space in a quiet room for the mind to allow the body to operate the way it knows how.
Shanti’s love for her craft shines through in every treatment she provides.

Jess completed her Bachelor in Applied Science (Osteopathy) and Bachelor of Health Sciences at RMIT in 2016. As no stranger to injuries herself, Jess loves osteopathy for the pain relief that hands on treatment can provide, alongside strategies to aid healing and rehabilitation exercises to prevent reinjury in the future.
Direct osteopathy is the main style of treatment Jess provides. Depending on the needs of the patient, this can involve techniques such as massage, manipulation, dry cupping and dry needling.
Jess enjoys helping adults who want to improve their well-being, including athletes, desk workers, hospitality staff, labourers, retirees, and those who are pregnant or postpartum.
When Jess is not at the clinic, you can likely find her out for a jog, trying to pin her toddlers into the double pram, or pottering through local op shops on the quest for vintage treasure.
