Grant graduated as an Osteopath from Victoria University in 2000. The final 2 years of his studies were spent completing his Masters thesis on neck pain in freestyle swimmers at the Victorian Institute of Sport.
Grant has since worked in private practice in Brisbane, the Channel Islands, Yorkshire and London. During his time in London he was employed as a consultant to the BBC to help reduce the incidence of back pain among their cameramen.
Grant also lectured in London and Scotland on spinal rehabilitation for Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths. He then returned to Australia and opened Procare Sports & Spinal in 2006.
As well as working in private practice, Grant has been working as an injury rehabilitation advisor to South Barwon Football Club and Geelong Cricket Club.
He enjoys the challenge of working with people to find a solution to back pain and sports injuries.
JOANNE BURROWS BSc(Clin.Sc.), MHSc(Osteo)
Jo is a Registered Osteopath with over 9 years experience practicing in Australia, the United Kingdom, and North America. Jo has had experience working as Head Osteopath for ‘Spirit of the Dance’ dance company, working with Irish dancers and acrobats touring the United States.
She has completed further study in the areas of Osteopathic treatment during pregnancy, optimal foetal positioning, and Osteopathy in the Cranial Field in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
Jo carried out 2 years of specialised practice in pregnancy and infant care at Fertile Ground Health Group in Melbourne, before helping to establish Procare Sports & Spinal in Geelong. Jo employs a gentle, hands-on approach to treatment, coupled with advice in regard to management and prevention.
She also specialises in the management of infants suffering from colic, poor sleep and head shape issues using gentle osteopathic techniques (also known as Osteopathy in the Cranial Field).
LAURA ERREY BAppSc(Comp.Med.), M.Ost
Laura graduated from the 5 year osteopathy course at RMIT University. Her final 2 years of study were spent completing a masters program in the area of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field.
Laura utilises a wide variety of osteopathic techniques in order to achieve maximum results for her patients. These include soft tissue manipulation, joint articulation, manipulation, fascial techniques and many others. She also enjoys providing management advice in order to achieve long-term benefits of osteopathic treatment.
Laura enjoys working with all sorts of patients and presentations with a special interest in adolescent and women's health, headaches and low back pain. She also enjoys working with sports-related injuries especially in relation to hockey, netball, athletics and swimming, actively participating in these fields herself.
Having relocated down the coast from Melbourne, Laura has joined the team at Procare Sports and Spinal and is helping others to achieve maximal health and well-being through osteopathy.
MYOTHERAPIST
NATHAN ULPH BHSc(Myo), BHSc(Anat.& Phys.)
Nathan has completed the highest level of qualification within the Myotherapy discipline. He also holds a degree in Anatomy and Physiology, allowing him to combine his sound clinical knowledge with a thorough understanding of the structure and function of the human body.
Nathan has experience with both Carlton and St Kilda AFL football clubs as well as numerous other high level sporting teams. This has seen him work with state, national and international athletes. Nathan combines his experience and knowledge with a friendly approach to his patients, aiming to help you achieve your physical goals and improve your quality of life.
Nathan has recently completed a course in Kinesio taping, which is an elastic therapeutic taping technique. It is extremely versatile and tolerable by patients and allows for therapeutic changes to occur between treatments thus allowing for faster recovery and better health outcomes for you.
